SSG Stephen Netzley and his daughter Mrazy walked into his new mortgage-free, personalized house on Friday morning, July 9 thanks to the generosity of several organizations that made it happen.
A caravan of vehicles mustered at Josey Lake Park Bird Sanctuary in the Bridgeland community and at five minutes till 10 a.m. were led by Lee Kirgan, vice president of project management for Operation FINALLY HOME, Cy-Fair Fire Department Engine 13, Patriot Guard Riders, Combat Veteran Riders Association, and Netzley and his daughter Mrazy.
“We arrived to a huge U.S. flag hung by the Cy-Fair Fire Department from one of their tower trucks, and a crowd of neighbors, the police and fire vehicles, and all the people involved in the process of gifting the home to Stephen,” Kirgan said.
With the sprinkling rain, two tents had been set up in front of the open garage doors and the ceremony was moved inside the garage. It didn’t dampen the spirits of the enthusiastic crowd gathered in front of his house that included the Houston Texans TORO and Texan cheerleaders.
