Residents in Houston’s East Aldine neighborhood say they’re tired of flooding during hurricanes. They’re tired of not having sufficient drainage and other infrastructure to protect their homes. (June 1)
SHIRLEY RONQUILLO: This is an example of the lack of maintenance in Allen Field. You see the trash. You see that that’s drainage. It should be cleared out.
This is why we have communities that flood, we have still water, we have dangerous conditions for children, because maintenance is not done on a regular basis. We should all be able to have clean drainage. This is Harris County property. It should be maintained, and it’s not.
