The car that Tom Cruise learned to drive stick shift in will be auctioned off at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson event in Houston, Texas.
Now, I’ve never seen the iconic 1983 film Risky Business (or Top Gun or Cocktail for that matter — come at me!), but from what I can tell from reading the summary, it’s pretty much like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, only instead of Matthew Broderick’s Ferris crashing his friend’s dad’s Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder through a garage door, it’s Tom Cruise’s Joel Goodsen accidentally rolling a 1979 Porsche 928 off a dock and into Lake Michigan.

But that car is not this car. This car was the main model driven in the film by the Hollywood A-lister, who did learn the ways of the manual transmission behind its wheel, but it wasn’t the car that entered the drink. That was a lease.
